Key West To Wherever

It’s a week before intended departure, I’ve been waiting on weather in Key West i.e.. the end of the hopefully "active" hurricane season coupled with a more advantageous time to head across the Pacific.. This will be the link for my updated progress for what is intended…God willing … a circumnavigation.

The upper picture is rather descriptive; actually, I’d like to head the 90 miles, on a 203 degrees True to Marina Hemingway in Cuba, only 12 to 20 hrs, depending on the wind..but unfortunately too many problems relating to home security…mostly political, so the plan is a three day sail to Isla Mujeres Mexico, on a 240 True, before heading south to the Panama Canal.

The boat is in good shape, new Yanmar engine; in addition, a new West Marine Zodiac dinghy, and I seem to be as well, dressed for success, for current and intended tropical and subtropical climates expected in the low latitudes, just south of the Equator sailing on the Tradewinds.

" Foward cabin needs some attention before crew arrives
Storage always a problem "

I'd also would like to give my heartfelt thanks to all my friends in Key West...It seems that over the last year, I probably have become acquainted with the population of half the Island?

" Sorry Sean, I cut your head off
...But a definite improvement over finger on lens appearing in many of my photos..oh well "

Key West Sea Trials...I want to thank Mike left... southern cigar smoking dandy, for taking the time from his Beneteau 35 and especially Scott behind the wheel for his invaluable help, readying Worldwind for departure.

In keeping with the music; notwithstanding, having written this three months ago, not being able to peek into the future, experiencing storms, 14 ft seas, crew members quitting, winding up and enjoying unexpected pleasures in only somewhat intended destinations...One begins to realize they are on a serendipitous adventure not to be too carefully planned but enjoyed until it's time to move on...Thought this video to be appropriate with that sentiment.
